Connect and Move: Fibromyalgia and Connective Tissue

Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30-5:30 pm at STAR Center.
Winter 2: February 3rd- March 26th.

What is Connect and Move: Fibromyalgia and Connective Tissue?

This program is designed for individuals with fibromyalgia and/or connective tissue disorders. Participants in this group exercise program will focus on fundamental fitness techniques and interventions to combat chronic symptoms.

What makes Connect and Move different than other programs in the community?

• Adaptive equipment and machines utilized during program
• Exercise techniques are specific to your diagnosis
• Transition time during programs are modified
• Support from university students and volunteers
• Modifications and progressions throughout program
• We take time to connect with you and the needs and goals you want to achieve in your health journey!

Eligibility and Criteria:

• Any individual with fibromyalgia and/or connective tissue disorder is invited to participate in Connect and Move. Adaptations and modifications will be available for those who need it.

• All ages and abilities are welcome. 
• Designed for individuals with fibromyalgia and/or connective tissue disorders.
• Individuals in this program must be able to participate independently with direction from the lead facilitator. 
  • If individuals need 1:1 assistance, a mentor or care partner must attend and assist the individual at the program.
  • If you need assistance finding support, please contact STAR. We may have 1:1 mentors available
• Participants will be held to the STAR Center Code of Conduct
