What is Strength in Motion: Gross Motor and Coordination Development?
This program is designed for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are 8-16. Participants in this program will work on developing gross motor and coordination through sport skills, games, and other physical activities. Individuals will learn fundamental sport skills and teamwork skills while enhancing their balance, strength, endurance, locomotor, and coordination.
Who can participate in Strength in Motion: Gross Motor and Coordination Development?
This program is for individuals 8-16 years of age and co-ed. Anyone who has an Intellectual or Developmental Disability can attend.
Eligibility and Criteria:
- 8-16, co-ed
- Designed for individuals with Intellectual or Developmental Disability
- Participants must be able to follow directions from the lead facilitator.
- If participants need assistance with following directions, a support staff must attend and assist the individual at the program.
- Participants will be held to the STAR Center Code of Conducts
Individuals with physical disabilities can also participate if desired. Individuals may ambulate independently, or use assistive devices, or wheelchairs.
